Hot Springs of Altyn Arashan

After two nights in the yurt camp in Jeti-Ögüzit’s time to continue traveling. We drove back toKarakol on the same bad road as we came here. Especially the bridges were a challenge and at some of them we needed to adjust the pieces of wood, the bridge was built with, so our truck was able to drive over them.

THE ROYALS – We met in a party bathroom and since then have been roaming around, searching only for the best things in life. We are spoiled and critical, but our snobbery comes from the heart. If you find something good, drop us a line.

Jim @ Sim out on a limb (Silk Road Travels)

In June 2009 Jim (James) and Sim (Simone) decided to quit their jobs in London, pack up their belongings and travel the old Silk Road. This blog is about our travels from Beirut to Kazakhstan.

“We travel not for trafficking alone, By hotter winds our firey hearts are fanned. For lust of knowing what should not be known We take the Golden Road to Samarkand”

Around the world in more than 365 days – follow me around the globe on my adventures.

“… each of us is given some seventy years, a decent amount of time and such a niggardly small gift when you have the eyes to see the gifts you must leave. In that time you shouldn’t be afraid to take out a year or two or even more to do something not in the straight path you originally chose. You shouldn’t be afraid to watch the slow turning of the stars and clouds and strange people, for although family, country, and abiding loves will never afterwards be holy, they will have become tender and subtle in unimagined ways.”
